We are a collective of artists who work with up-cycled materials, mostly textiles. We each also have our own separate practices, but we have come together to support each other under the umbrella of the Works-in-Progress collective.
How we support artists/makers/artisans:
Sharing skills: Do you have skills/approaches to up-cycling that you are willing to share? We can help. If you are willing to lead a workshop, we can advertise, offer tech support and one of us will co-host to whatever degree you like - no one needs to go it alone. We have funding to offer artist fees for the workshops, and to produce materials after the fact, like documentation, so we can reach a larger community online.
Sharing shows/events/projects of interest to artists and WIP: Throughout the year our members attend or run various workshops and events within their fields of interests/practice, and some of the time in areas of interest totally unrelated! We are always eager to share and attend all the wondrous, quirky, informative things going on in the world, and are happy to pass the word on.
Access to community partners: we have some great community partners that allow us to meet and work with some interesting learners, makers and community builders.
Materials: we have reclaimed material and are willing to share.
