Works--in-Progress met at the upstairs room in the Toronto Public Library for a "workshop" workshop where we did some deep learning about fabric materials from Works-in-Progress member/textile artist/craftsperson Marnie Saskin and tried a few hands on projects including an excellent warm up /drop in workshop project making scratch pad toys from cardstock, crayons and paint (great for old cereal boxes) lead by Works-in-Progress member/educator Leona B. Marnie walked us through types of plant based, animal based and human made fabrics, pros and cons and then we did a burn test outside the doors of the yet-to-open library (videos to come but enjoy the photos for now... better with smell-o-vision) and then we sorted through our bins of cloth collected from clothing swaps and made cutlery carriers (photos to come, I was busy sewing!!)
